President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening returned from his routine medical checkup in the UK that lasted for two weeks. However, many Nigerians have been concerned about the president and why he prefers seeking medical attention outside the country even as there are good hospitals in Nigeria.
The assistant principal spokesman of the Tinubu campaign organization, Ajuri Ngelale was speaking on Arise TV when he was asked why Buhari always travels to the UK and hasn’t built a hospital in Nigeria that meets his standard after eight years in office.
Reacting to the question thrown at him, he said that Buhari has a personal doctor before he became president and no law says he should change his doctor because he’s the president.
He said;
“On the issue of President Muhammadu Buhari’s health care, he has been very open with the fact that he has a relationship with his personal physician that predates his time in office.
He has this same doctor for decades, it is not within any constitutional obligation to drop your personal physician because you’ve taken off the office of the president.
Speaking further, he said; “we have a sitting vice president of this country, professor Yemi Osinbajo who had a very sensitive leg surgery done in Lagos.”
